Schedule messages using the Whispir API

  1. Whispir now supports the ability to schedule messages to be sent in the future, or as a repeated message sendout.

    The process of scheduling is part of the normal message sendout, and does not require any timers from the user or application perspective.

    Messages can be sent in future by simply adding a few lines of code to your message body:

    HTTP 1.1 POST http://api.whispir.com/messages?apikey=<yourkey>
    Authorization: Basic am9obi5zbWl0aDpteXBhc3N3b3Jk
    Content-Type: application/vnd.whispir.message-v1+json

    {
        "to" : "john.smith@test.com",
        "subject" : "Test scheduled e-mail message",
        "email" : {
            "body" : "This is my scheduled content",
            "type" : "text/plain"
        },
        "messageType" : "SCHEDULED",
        "scheduleType" : "ONCE",
        "scheduleDate" : "14/02/2013 15:55"
    }

    This message will now be delivered on the 14th of February 2013 at 3.55pm.

    If you need to have a message delivered a number of times, you can do this easily using the message repeat feature.

    HTTP 1.1 POST http://api.whispir.com/messages?apikey=<yourkey>
    Authorization: Basic am9obi5zbWl0aDpteXBhc3N3b3Jk
    Content-Type: application/vnd.whispir.message-v1+json

    {
        "to" : "john.smith@test.com",
        "subject" : "Test scheduled e-mail message",
        "email" : {
            "body" : "This is my scheduled content",
            "type" : "text/plain"
        },
        "messageType" : "SCHEDULED",
        "scheduleType" : "REPEAT",
        "scheduleDate" : "14/02/2013 15:55",
        "repetitionCount" : "10",
        "repeatDays" : "0",
        "repeatHrs" : "1",
        "repeatMin" : "0"
    }
